Arcadia’s 4th of July Parade 2018 A Celebration of Community and Patriotism

Arcadia Parade Celebrates 23 Years of Patriotism and Community Spirit

Hundreds of neighbors from East Phoenix and South Scottsdale lined the streets this morning. They came to celebrate our nation’s independence at the 23rd Annual Arcadia 4th of July Parade. The community came together in a vibrant display of patriotism, family fun, and local pride.

The parade, now a beloved tradition in the Arcadia neighborhood, featured festive floats, marching groups, and vintage vehicles. There was plenty of red, white, and blue. Families waved flags and cheered from curbside. Local leaders, organizations, and community groups made their way down the route.

Among the parade’s organizers was Barry Paceley, a fellow representative on the Salt River Project Council for District 7. He also serves as co-chair of the Arcadia Parade Committee. His leadership, alongside many dedicated volunteers, helped ensure this year’s event ran smoothly. Thus, it continued its legacy of community celebration.

Local Support and Media Coverage

Several local businesses played a key role in supporting this year’s event, including Chick-fil-A Arcadia, Pie Snob, and Einstein Bros. Bagels, whose generosity helped keep paradegoers refreshed and energized throughout the morning.

Special thanks go to FOX 10 Phoenix and azfamily 3TV/CBS 5. Their teams were on-site to cover the parade and share the story with viewers across the Valley on Channels 3, 5, and 10.

Civic Engagement on Display

The parade also drew participation from numerous political campaigns, adding a civic dimension to the morning’s festivities. Local and state candidates including Maria Syms, Kate Brophy McGee, and Rodney B. Glassman walked the route. Furthermore, Governor Doug Ducey, Daniel Valenzuela, Steve Ferrara, and several others greeted residents. They shared their messages ahead of the next election cycle.

Parade Highlights

Paradegoers enjoyed a look at former SRP Manager Bob Mason’s vintage truck, a fan favorite each year. Along with this, they saw the smiling faces of Travis Leach and his family, who added to the morning’s festive spirit.

As the sun rose over Arcadia, the neighborhood once again demonstrated the strength of its community ties. It also showed its enduring love for country. Events like this parade remind us why Independence Day is not only a national celebration. It is a deeply local one as well.
