Aerial View of Preservation: The David Wright House, Captured by Keith Woods
On September 17, 2017, Keith Woods captured a striking aerial photograph of the David Wright House, located in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood. The image tells more than a visual story—it reflects history, preservation, and architectural legacy.
Reflecting on the experience, Keith said, “My first big PR story was with Mark Littell and the Nutty Buddy. Then came the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Arcadia. That became a pivotal chapter in my storytelling career.”
Real estate expert Robert Joffe, founder of The Joffe Group and now with Launch Real Estate, played a crucial role in saving the home. He donated his services to help find a buyer committed to preserving its architectural integrity. As a result, the house avoided redevelopment and remained protected.
The David Wright House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his son, features a distinctive spiral design. This unique structure reflects Wright’s signature style of organic architecture. Over time, the home has gained national attention as one of his most important late-career residential works.
In a notable step for long-term preservation, the house was recently donated to the School of Architecture at Taliesin. This transition secures its future as an educational site and cultural landmark.
At KB Woods, we take pride in capturing and sharing stories like this one. The aerial image remains a lasting visual record of a successful preservation effort. It also represents a commitment to honoring architectural history.
